Good news for the Alinea chef, his cancer is now in remission. Hope it stays that way because I still want to some day be able to experience his cooking for myself.
Just read this lecture he gave, it's a nice synopsis of almost all of his favorite themes while at the same time a telling critique of Western notions of empire building and post modernism. Simply brilliant.
